Inspired by the iconic elegance and trailblazing character of Singapore’s own heritage orchids, this landscaped display features over 300 species and hybrids from the orchid heritage of different world regions, cultivated under local conditions by dedicated hobbyists and professional growers.
Some of these specimens have been recognised for their exceptional beauty and outstanding performance, obtaining international awards from leading horticultural societies such as the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), the American Orchid Society (AOS) and the Orchid Society of South East Asia (OSSEA).
Such awards include:
– First Class Certificate (FCC), 90 points or more
– Award of Merit (AM), 80-89 points
– High Commendation Certificate (HCC), 75-79 points
OSSEA judges have given prizes to the best plants in this display: Judges Commendation (JC) for horticultural excellence or historical importance; Best in Class for the most outstanding plant in its group; and Ribbon Rosette for the best of the best.
